Gihren’s Greed: The Menace of Axis was released for the PSP in 2008. An updated version, Menace of Axis V, featuring new characters, Mobile Suits, and the Tem Ray Army campaign, came out one year later in 2009 for both PSP and PS2.
The following playthroughs are of the PS2 version of the game.
Earth Federation
In the year UC 0079, the Principality of Zeon declares war on the Earth Federation. The Earth Federation Forces fight back, but are at a disadvantage thanks to Zeon’s newly developed mobile suits. After a colony drop operation and being pushed back by Zeon’s Earth invasion, General Revil, supreme commander of the Federation forces, approves “Operation V”, a plan to develop mobile suits for his own side and hopefully turn the tide of battle.
Principality of Zeon
In the year UC 0079, the Principality of Zeon declares war on the Earth Federation. Zeon’s new mobile suit, the Zaku, overwhelms the Federation’s army, and soon they begin an Earth descent operation to occupy the surface. Commanded by Gihren Zabi, the oldest son of the ruling Zabi family, they seek to defeat the Federation and achieve independence for the Principality of Zeon.
AEUG
The Titans, which were formed under the pretext of wiping out the remnants of Zeon, eventually began to use more oppressive and atrocious tactics. In order to fight back against them, Blex Forer, a former Federation officer, formed a resistance group known as the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG).
Axis Zeon
After the end of the One Year War, some of the remnants of Zeon fled to the asteroid Axis. In 0087, Axis’s leader Haman Karn returned to the Earth sphere calling for the revival of Zeon, entering in a three way conflict against the Titans and AEUG.
Casval’s Neo Zeon
Char Aznable, son of Zeon Zum Deikun, starts a rebellion in the lunar city of Granada under his reclaimed birth name Casval Rem Deikun. In this version of Neo Zeon, he leads a force composed of Newtypes such as Lalah and Challia, and others loyal to him in a three way battle against the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon.
Garma’s Reborn Zeon
Seeking to atone for his family’s actions, Garma Zabi and his brother Dozle split off from the Principality of Zeon and form their own faction. He is forced to fight against his old friend in Casval’s Neo Zeon, as well as the Earth Federation.
